The Inspiration

The Inspiration

In spring of 2018, the one and only Scotty Greathouse approached me to design the interior to the Boys and Girls Club in downtown Santa Cruz. A project made possible by the California Arts Council. The design was inspired by this painting, Bay Moon, and became a summer collaboration between the kids, Scotty and I, and some big hearted volunteers such as Sled.

 Scotty masterminded the process. The painting concept morphed into a giant wood puzzle. Each kid painted a few pieces of the puzzle. We worked with the kids painting by day and worked nocturnally to reconstruct. Lots of burritos, gut laughing, and d
